Broken

"Without I was broken, but I'd rather be broke down with you by my side."

This is the story of Kelli and I. Kelli and I met a few weeks ago through her sister and her sisters fiance who I happen to work with. We have been talking a lot and getting to know one and other, and it has been amazing! Kelli is a great gal and someone who I really enjoy having in my life! We just had the pleasure of spending some in Estes Park this weekend which was amazing! We did some snowshoeing, some hiking, tried some new foods, and just go to be with one and other which was great for the spirit and the soul. See that quote up top, yah that one, by Jack Johnson, that is how we feel about each other at this moment in our lives. Even though we are a distance from one and other we still find a way to make each others day! I miss her each and every day, but I know that she is always just a phone call or a text message away! Speaking of, it is time to bid farewell this evening! Thank you again for visiting, I do hope that you enjoy my posts and my messages. ~Matt~

Fate does exist!

Over the past few years I have really begun to learn that fate really does exist! Things in my life happen for a reason, and curve balls are thrown my way for a reason and that is something that I never paid attention to before. However, I have started to listen when fate knocks on my door, and so far everytime it has paid off. This last week was no exception. Not only did I have an amazing time in Pagosa Springs, but, I met someone who I think is amazing. This new friend informed me that there are job openings in the area for Elementary School teachers, and as many of you know I have been looking at all my options. Fate, it does exist. So, when it knocks at your door, open it up and take a listen. The photo of the day today is me, at the Pagosa Springs Overlook on Wolf Creek Pass.
PS: Check out my photo blog for some new photos that I shot while I was up there!

One Day at a Time

I know that it has been a while since my last post! There have been many changes in my life recently and I have decided to just take life one day at a time and at face value. I have many friends who are moving out of state, there have been many changes at work and in life so I am trying my hardest not to stress over things that are out of my control. Baby steps. That is all that I can do right now, take baby steps. One day at a time, one breath at a time. In the end I know that I will be okay, this is something that I have always known. I always find a way to survive and make life enjoyable and livable. Sorry for no picture today, I have not been out shooting in a while, hopefully over spring break I will have many new shots to share with one and all. Till next time, remember life is all about the journey.

New Toy

Okay - many things have been going on in my life this last week! First of all I started my student teaching, which I am absolutely loving! Its been a lot of fun, the kids are great, the teacher I am working with is great, and most importantely I am learning so much which is awesome! I am a little nervous because I really want to do a good job, but I know that with time it will all be good! Well as you may or may know we have been getting pounded here with snow, and now below zero temperatures! So earlier this week my Dad leaves me a lenghthy message on my cell phone that he needed my assistance when I got home, and to my surprise he bought us a new toy! Now we can finally move all that snow that we have been getting! Its great, it got its first use this morning, and let me tell you it was -7 degrees when I was out there, by the time I was done I could not feel my thumbs! Anyway it is a lot of fun, so bring on the snow!!

Eldora

Had the best day today! My friend and I spent all day at Eldora skiing and snowboarding! It was such a great day! There was almost no one on the mountain! We had the whole mountain to ourselves! He pushed me hard to do some blacks today, which I never do, so it was great! I had a lot of fun, and really enjoyed the company! We had great conversation and it was just nice to be on the hill on a Wednesday, and having lunch together which we never get to do! It was all around a great day, even though I was sore this afternoon, well its off for some more tylenol and to bed so I can hit Winter Park tomorrow!

Blizzard 12-28-06 Round II

I cannot beleive this, its ROUND II! We are supposed to end up with more than the last storm which left us with 30". We had already about 20" on the ground, with some melting from the previous storm...with new addition of snow we are back at where we were, and more in on the way! we may have 40+" on the ground when this is all said and done. The picture is looking towards the front of the house and my car with all the new snow on top!

More Snow

I perhaps thought that we may done with snow for a while, but as I prepare for Christmas Eve I look out my kitchen window and to my surprise it is once again starting to snow. What a great way to begin Christmas, a light snowfall to blanket everything. Does not look like it will be quite the snow accumulations we had earlier this week, but enough to make the season bright. Merry Christmas! Cheers!

BIG SNOW

HUGE snowstorm! We already have 16 inches and we are supposed to get that plus some by this time tomorrow! Its INSANE! Two SNOW DAYS! WHOO HOO! Winter Break came early this year! Can you beleive it??

BIG NEWS...

As of right now, I have finished all my course work completing my bachelors degree in English! I just got home from my final class about 2.5 hours ago, and my final paper is already written! It is like this HUGE GINORMOUS weight has been lifted from my shoulders! It feels so good! Cheers!

Yahoo!

Its over! After a few weeks of eating, sleeping, breathing and being at one with James Joyce, I have finally added the finishing touches to my research paper! Its done! 13 grueling pages later, I feel like I have really accomplished something! It feels good to be done! Along with all of that, I worked my first day with Colorado Ski Academy on Wednesday, it was awesome, we went to Eldora and the only issue was 1 bus broke down, and the chair lifts broke down, but other than that, it was a SUPER day! Ate a lot of turkey on Thursday, it was great to have the whole family together, and even a couple new members, it was so intimate having them there, it was a great day! Got the lights up on the house for the holidays, got up early on Friday to start some shopping and do my part to support the proceeds of black Friday! All in all it has been a great break, I needed it, I needed to regather my thoughts, finish some things up, and now I can focus on the end of the year! Well, I am gonna run for now, see you all very soon! Tis the Season! :)
