Smile

I HAD THE BEST TIME...
Last night was the carnival at school...I had a great time telling the kids fortunes, and seeing how many of them dressed up for a good time, it was awesome! I even got to see a few of my 5th graders from last year that came...it was cool. However, the evening really picked up when I went out with my friends from work. We had SO MUCH FUN, laughed really hard and overall had a great time! It is so nice to have good people in my life. I even got to know a couple of them even better which made the whole evening special and memorable even though I only got like 3 hours of sleep! I have NEVER stayed out until 3am before...it was awesome! TTFN...Nap Time. PS: "I am pooped!" LOL JK - and the quote of the evening..."I'm not drunk, I'm just disoriented".
I Found My Smile
I knew it was out there somewhere. It has been a long time since I have really felt happy about they way my life was going. This new journey that my life has taken me on, has taken me to places I have not seen before. I have always loved the unknown, but now, its different. The unknown leads me to my smile, no matter where the unknown takes me. I have made many new genuine friendships which really means a lot to me, because this is all new territory for me. I love what I do, I love the kids, I love the people I work with, I love all my new and old friends, and I especially love my family more than they know! Their support over the past couple years has meant more to me than they know, especially as my life transitioned down this new path which I live for each and every day. I am pooped, still working this cold out of my system, so I will talk to you all soon. Listen to your heart, it will tell where your Journey needs to take you! I forgot to mention how happy I am that Indy got better...I was really worried for a while...he has been my hiking buddy for sometime, and when he got sick I was scared. He is better though...and I know ready to hit the trail sometime soon! :)

Happy Birthday

Hurricanes

IT HAS BEEN A
RECORD SETTING YEAR
As I sit here and watch the news reports about the record number of named storms this year, I wonder if we as a species have had something to do with this phenomena? When in history has there been so many massive storms that has done so much damage and destruction as this year? Do we play a role in this? Not only is it Hurricanes but look at the Earth Quakes on the other side of the globe. It has been a rough year this year. Although, even though I ponder the kids are eating up Hurricanes this year. It has been something that we have done a lot of research on, and looked at a lot.
I myself am impressed with Mother Nature this year that is for sure.
My heart does go out to all the people that are affected each and every day by these storms.Below you will see a stats box from
http://www.aol.com talking about the
Hurricane stats so far this year.
As the Hurricane season continues on
we are now at our newest named storm.

Sub-Human

YEAH! Sub-Human Status Today!! :)
Ok - so I came home sick from work yesterday, I was feeling okay until about 11 in the morning when I started to feel a headache come on. From there it hit fast and hard, and was verging on becoming a migrane. Took an Aleve at 12:20, and by the time I left at 2:20 thought that life was over for me, I could not even function. I am so glad that my brother was there assisting us yesterday, he is like my all time life savor! I love him, and I am also so GREATFUL that Melissa and Allison let me go home early! I came home, crawled right into bed with a cold wash cloth and died! I think I just needed good sleep, a quiet cool space and some alone time. I slept for a good couple hours. The pain in my head began to subside and I started feeling somewhat of a human again. I had promised my parents dinner out this week, so off we went to Buca di Beppo. Talk about an AWESOME restaurant with the coolest atmosphere! I was not expecting at all of how their establishment looked like! It was such a great evening spending time with my parents and chatting and did a little lite shopping after even though I still kinda felt like I was going to die. We had fun looking for halloween costumes! As of this morning, after a NyQuil enduced coma last night I am starting to feel somewhat sub-human. Whatever this was thats been wrecking havok on me, is going buh-bye because I am a tough cookie! Well I am off to my day...its going to be a lot of R&R this weekend so I can give my full attention to the kids on Monday! Later Tater!

I Hate Being Sick!!

GOTTA LOVE NYQUIL!
Its been a rollercoaster of not feeling so well these past couple of days, on again, off again sore throat, but overall feeling better this evening. Not quite sure what it is, but probably something I picked up from one of the kids! Oh well, I love them! Its been kinda an awkward week so far, like I feel like I am getting a lot accomplished, but at the same time feel like I am standing still. It may be due to the fact that I have not been feeling well, or the after effects of the NyQuil, one of the aboeve! Tomorrow is our fun run, that should be a lot of fun! Something different to add to our week! I am Overly excited that A-Basin is open this weekend, I need some mountain time, and better yet, some mountain time doing what I passion! I will also be stoked once this next science test is over, I am stressing because I really struggled with a few of the concepts, but I know that like always I will do just fine. (Lets Hope). Well Just a quick update for the evening...I will try some more cheese and milk before bed to see if that helps me sleep better, Dad saw a story about something in cheese and milk that allows you for a better nights sleep, so I will try it again tonight, minus the NyQuil! PS: Its not me in the picture...but it will be in a few days!!!! :)
October 20, 2005 - THIS JUST IN...
This may make some of you happy to know that as of 8:45 this evening my voice is about 100% gone! I am nothing but breaths of air and the occasional squeak! A lot of good I will be tomorrow with 30 kids! Oh well! Ni-Nite! :)

Homework

AGHH! Science Classes!
I really need to sit down today, read some some Carl Sagan and make a response to this book. However, its been way off the wall and I am sitting here thinking about all of the yard work that still needs to be done. Dad and I went on a mission yesterday for a chain saw to complete our tree trimming from the storm that caused many of our trees to break, and one to completely crack in half. We worked until sunset last night and now today we have a HUGE pile or debris! So here I sit, Sagan at my side and my pile of debris out front. What to do? I even went to bed last night at 8:30, but woke up early at 4:30 this morning, so I laid in bed for a while watched Everwood from Thursday and Sideways. Till Next Time - Remember, Loveland is open, Snowboard Season has begun. Check them out at: http://www.skiloveland.com
A-Basin Opens Friday!!!

Isn't it Magical?

It is definantely play time! Went with a couple friends last night to Six Flags and Fright Fest! Went to Brutal Planet, one of Colorado's top 5 haunted house, and found myself screaming like a girl on a number of occasions! It was good! We also rode a few rides and were the last ones to take a journey through the Scream House, again girl screams were heard! Oh well, it was a lot of fun, and we had a really good time! Check out Fright Fest by going to - http://www.sixflags.com Spent all day today in class with Project Learning Tree. I got some good material to use later on, and gained some information, but overall the day sucked because my presenters were not all that good. They spent 8 hours teaching us how to use a book, and I feel that I am a well educated person, and really could figure the book out on my own, but none the less I did find the information helpful. Visit them at - http://www.plt.org I am exhausted tonight, its been a long couple of days, and I am really glad to get to go to bed early.
On a much lighter note, the Denver area is under a winter weather watch for Monday. YAHOO!! Giddyup! Arapahoe is fiercly making snow to meet the October 21st deadline set for opening day! I am ready and counting the days, it is time, although it seems like we went straight from hot summer to brutally cold winter!
Oh well, that is Colorado for you! Have a great weekend!! :)

Pictures as Windows

Do you ever look at a picture as a window into your life? I look at pictures as just that. They are snapshots my life, where its taken me, things I have accomplished or in this case mountains I have climbed. But, oftentimes, especially lately I have looked at those same pictures that have taken me to great places and taken a new look. I have spent time wondering what is missing from those pictures. That is where my journey is at this moment in time. It has seen accomplishments and achievements, but now it wants to know what it missed along the way. There are places that I have been, things I have seen and mountains I have climbed. But, what would make those pictures that much better? That is where my journey is, searching. Not even quite sure for what...just searching for new adventures that take me to new heights.

Race Day!

Today is a very special day! Today is The Race for the Cure here in Denver. Yes, I will be in the race. I am walking today for my Grandma and my friends; Debbie, Chris and Jeannette. They are ALL survivors and thrive each and every day! Today I will do my part to someday find a cure for this disease!
On a MUCH lighter note, my good friend Paige got married yesterday! Probably one of the most beautiful weddings ever. It was at Sunlight Ski Resort and all the trees were in color! I have attached a few pictures this morning of the gorgeous colors! It was such a beautiful day, and Paige and Ed are truly meant to be together and I don't know any two people who were as destined as these two! Good Luck on your new Journey through life!

Sunlight Ski Resort on a Beautiful Fall day!!

Fall is Definantely in the Air!

Glad that the week is over, it was kinda a crazy week, had a lot to do but managed to get it all done, so that was the most important part. I also got back my first exam, got an A but was worried cause I felt a little uneasy about a few of the answers. Well, Friday afternoon I drove to Glenwood Springs, and took a little detour over Loveland Pass to check out some snow and some fall colors. I found myself very fruitful on that little endeavor, and really enjoyed the drive! Everything right now in the high country is a gorgeous shade of golden yellow! Not to mention that the weather was just perfect for pictures and hiking! Got to Glenwood Springs about 7pm and met up with my friends had some dinner watched a movie, and then a little late night shopping for school on Monday! It is now Saturday morning, and if you know me, you know that I am an early morning riser. So even though I went to bed at midnight I am up at 6! Also, as of this morning, I have health insurance again! No more worrying about getting sick or dying of some rare amazonian diease! Make it an EXTRAORDINARY weekend! :)
